His household enjoyed a lavish and refined lifestyle for the times. Dance, pursued as daily exercise and social engagement, was central to courtly celebrations. Talented musicians from poorer classes were thus employed at Henrys infamous court. Many a beauty was ensnared by the wily king, not least his numerous wives beholden, King Henrys choice! The melodic interest is shared throughout. Parts are written for the technique of developing players, encouraging exploration of contrasting bowings, resonance and variety of tone colour. The piano accompaniment is useful for rehearsal purposes, or to assist with scaffolding balance, rhythm and pitch in concert.
