Jamaican Jive is an energetic and lively piece with a syncopated rhythmic groove used throughout. While the melodies also use some syncopation, they are very tuneful and easy to play with only a few accidentals. The cello has the tune in the middle section and is accompanied by tremolo and pizzicato in the upper strings. With the foot stomps in the syncopated figures, this piece is sure to become a favourite for young and older players alike!
