Copper Alloy Flutes are made with a thin clear lacquer over the top of the copper tube. This lacquer is not scratch proof. Some players may also find that they have some level of acidic perspiration which, if not cleaned after playing, could cause issues with the lacquer and shiny copper metal surface of the flute.
