Incorporating many interesting cultural aspects, Eugne Bozza’s Cinq Chansons sur des Thmes Japonais (5 Songs on Japanese Themes) is a sublime addition to the Flute player’s repertoire.

Bozza (1905-1991) was a brilliant student at the Paris Conservatoire, winning prizes for the Violin, conducting and composing, as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He predominantly composed chamber music for wind instruments, but his solo works for the family are also held in high esteem. Each movement is based on traditional Japanese themes. Incorporating the beautiful lyricism of the Flute, as well as its versatility in playing fast, staccato passages, Bozza’s Cinq Chansons sur des Thmes Japonais is a compelling addition to the intermediate flautist’s repertoire.
