This piece was written as a modern take on the traditional Irish dance forms, Air and Reel. While structurally varied to the more traditional pieces, the style and mood of this work remains the same in spirit.
The Air is a slow piece with simple melody in D major featuring some ornamentation. It moves unexpectedly into the Reel
A very fast and vibrant piece in D minor. All the instruments get some melodic interest and there is position work in most parts.
A very energetic piece that will make a great end to a concert!
